I have been randomly selected to shoot free throws at half time of the Nebraska game. Please don’t judge my incredibly poor form or lack of skill. Three rounds to potentially win final four tickets.
Go Green!!!
Sounds like fun. Good luck! I imagine it is one thing to hit free throws in the gym when no one is watching and another thing to hit them with fans in the stands at Breslin.
I hope you will cover your halftime performance in the recap!
Video attached. Not great but I will practice more next time.
Congrats on winning, my advice for practicing this month is to practice close to the rim and after you get good take a step back each time until you get to the freethrow
Also after watching your video work on getting the ball up higher, your pushing which is why a few were short
@keithjohnson32 You're completely right. Fundamentals kind of go out the window when I'm out there and trying to shoot as fast as I can. Whenever I was distracted and slowed down a titch I shot much better and bent the knees. I never was any good at basketball so I have no good habits to fall back on. Just an old guy who knows what to do but has no muscle memory. your tips are good ones. When I'm by myself I'm hitting around 70-80% it's just when I'm firing so fast that I start shooting all wonky.
@elarson284568176374567 If you struggle with nerves or distraction then develop a simple focusing technique like a deep breathe; see the center of the hoop; use a one word mantra like “in” and then take your shot. Your time for each shot might take a second longer but your accuracy will increase
