One great thing about this group of players is that they tend to have two traits in common: they were hard workers and they had to trust Izzo because many of them only became great after a year or two of developing.

About Travis Trice, I thought I remember hearing that Purdue fans thought Izzo only took Trice because he was recruiting Dawson, his AAU teammate, and Izzo thought taking Trice would help him get Dawson.

One of my favorite plays in MSU basketball history was when Tillman was a freshman (I believe) and he dived on the floor for the ball going out of bounds and Izzo just went nuts with excitement and the whole team was clapping Tillman on the back for his effort.

I might be off base here, but I thought Goins might have made the list. He started as a walk-on and became a crucial member on a FF team. He averaged about 8 pts and 9 rebounds a game as a senior and was a great defender. Still, it would be hard to argue with the list.
