- FINALLY started to hit some shots. I’ll admit the quality got better as MSU moved the ball (and penetrated) better but still, early on a lot of decent looks just weren’t dropping.

- that said, I think things turned defensively. Tre Holloman is just an energizer out there.  MSU’s guards need to apply a little more ball pressure in the second half IMO…if Oregon is going to beat you with guard penetration, let’s see them do it.  Otherwise, I think MSU can take the heart out of them a bit with the guards doing what they’re capable of defensively.

- rebounding is essentially even, but you’ll take that if you’re MSU. Some big offensive rebounds and second chance points by the Spartans.  This is especially true in a half where MSU got nothing out of Mady.

- big halves from Kohler and Brooks. Look, Pierre isn’t getting tested defensively the way he was last night but his effort has been a tick better IMO and the shot making is sorely needed when Hall and Akins are out. Kohler just did his thing. 6 points, 3 boards and he held up fine on defense.

- Walker with 7 assists at the half. He’s actually been playmaking as opposed to just making the last pass before a bucket. They need it.

- AJ *has* to get out of the funk he’s been in. Mistakes, lack of focus and bad body language will lane your ass on the bench stat in this program, especially when Izzo can turn to Holloman, who will at least give max effort.

Walker has been lights out in this early season. It's nice to see ... hit huge shots through the game. I think AJ doesn't even know that his body language is like  ... someone should show him tape when he is into the game and how he looks and when he's not and how he looks ... and when doing so, how his teammates react. When he's all in, he motivates others.
