Fears and Normand receiving high praise from a camp featuring some of the country’s best players.
For reference, other players on the list:
Dual: Providence commit, Top 100 ranking
Fielder: Top 150 ranking
Bidunga: Top 10 ranking
Walters: Alabama commit, Top 50 ranking
Mercy Miller: Houston commit, Top 50 ranking
Mookie Cook: Oregon commit, Top 20 ranking
Yes, both guys received raves from multiple evaluators. This was the event that was really the launching pad for Jaxon Kohler last year, and what led to his recruitment (and ranking) blowing up. Speaking of that, it looks to me as if this year's Kohler might be the Fielder kid on that list...another underrecruited big man who has seen majorly increased attention over the last few days. I know Iowa is involved, as are Syracuse, USC (taking an official there this upcoming weekend) and others. Maybe not coincidentally, he will play for Southern California Academy this winter...where Kohler was last season.
Back to our guys...Fears is such a known quantity that nothing said about his play in this event was surprising but it felt as if Normand made some new fans. I saw Doug Gottlieb tweet this morning about his demonstrated ability to play on and off the ball...that's an element that I think even we may have undersold on the podcast. No, he's not yet another pure point guard, but if that ability is real (and I think it is, from the bits I've seen and more importantly what I've heard), that's one more guy who gives you multiple on ball options at any given time on the floor.

@loomin_knotty That's the one. Not that Gottlieb is the be all and end all, but he's one more voice among several who saw Pangos up close and had similar takes about GN's game.
