Does anyone have information on Jaden Akins being injured?  Heard on Jack Ebling' podcast that he is in a walking boot

That is the word.  No detail as to severity but I guess at this stage I’d assume precautionary/non surgical until something else gets disclosed.

Have heard from a couple of places today that we can expect him to be out awhile but likely to be back in time for the season opener.  The only question there would be conditioning and how long he needs to get back up to game speed, but I'm not anticipating anything which threatens his season...caveat being that you can never know for sure what might happen in recovery.

thanks for update.  Obviously, a very important piece.  heard he had a great off-season and is ready to take big next step.  You are correct, you never know (e.g. Josh Langford)

Well, we are 55 days out from the opener against N. Arizona - or almost 8 weeks. That should give him almost 4 weeks to recover. I would guess that should be pretty good for conditioning as well.

At least the first couple games of the season aren't against stiff competition.  🙄

Yeah, timeline here is a little shorter than what I'd heard over the weekend, so that's potentially good news.  Either way, he seems to be in good shape to be ready to play at the start of the season, assuming no complications.
