CBS now has MSU in its top 5. I think that is a little high, but I can see the justification. I thought they might make it to top 12-15, though.
I like that the writer/ranker wrote out the MSU rational. The ranking makes quite a bit of sense in that context. Well, at least as of yesterday. Given Gonzaga then went and lost by 19 last night, maybe not as much sense since.
I watched the second part of the first half last night and Texas seemed firmly in control. Given the final outcome, I kind of assume the game never became close. Texas is ranked themselves though and it was a true road game for Gonzaga.
Either way, technically, yeah, we just played two top five teams. But, let's see where they end up at season's end and then there's the context of having the fortune of playing Kentucky in their big guy's first game back and that he fouled out.
I'm really liking this MSU team, but am thinking there's still a long ways to go. We still need our typical November to March improvement.
In the meantime, there's a big game tomorrow that'll factor into next week's rankings. A win and they'll likely put us top ten or higher. A loss and we'll probably be where we're at now.

@houseizzorockin to some extent, I think that game last night was a perfect storm. True road game and Texas hit everything…one of those nights.
