I have to admit, I didn’t enjoy this year’s team and am looking forward to next year. The preseason hype for this year’s group set me up for disappointment.
I don’t care if next year’s team isn’t top 10 or not a conference contender (although I would not be surprised if they end up there), but I do think it will be refreshing if we see a lineup of Fears - Holloman - Normand - Carr - Booker with Sissoko, Kohler, Cooper, Richardson, Teng, and McCollough getting decent minutes. I am hopeful that Fears can be one of those PGs that simply wills wins (like Winston and Cleaves did). I am also optimistic that Holloman, Normand, and Teng will be decent from 3-point range. What I really hope, though, is that one of our bigs make a big jump, or that McCollough proves to be a big surprise (like Owen Freeman was for Iowa).
I don’t dislike Hoggard and Akins, but I would like to see a new group run the show next year.
