First off, I want to thank @RodMSU1968 and @elarson284568176374567 for all their work on the podcast and the great shows they have been putting out. I absolutely love the podcast and always wanted more and more content about anything MSU basketball from them. I recommend the podcast to anyone who is a State fan and even just Big Ten basketball fans in general and have gotten great responses. We all thank you for building this forum for us to join in the conversation in real time and not have to deal with the "Tweety-bird cesspool" while doing it. Look forward to many more podcasts and what is to come!

Now, with the announcement of Tom's new deal, let's hear everyone's favorite moments from the Izzo era. (Let's exclude the 2000 championship because that's a given to us all.) I'll throw out a few of mine to get the ball rolling...

> 2009: Final Four run and specifically Durrell Summers dunk that about brought Ford Field down it was so loud.

> 2007: Drew Neitzel goes off to upset #1 Wisconsin at home. Tom's emotion after the game was palpable even through the TV and ESPN did a great job in the moment letting the crowd and band come through the audio. Musburger was also great on the call.

There are countless other ones, but I am not trying to steal anyone else's take. So let's hear what yours is!

I think 2009 is the best memory, I think the weekend in Indianapolis prior to the FF was the best weekend of MSU basketball I've seen. We had a super gutty win Friday night against a solid Kansas team with Aldrich/Collins and then the epic beat down of #1 overall seed Louisville on Sunday afternoon. There was a play where one Louisville player, I believe it may have been Terrance Matthews had a breakaway and Walton just came out of nowhere and stripped the ball. Potential lottery pick was going up for a dunk and here comes a scrappy, unheralded recruit from Lima Ohio who may have been the toughest Spartan ever and he blows the play up. As the 2nd half went on, it seemed like Louisville just quit. I remember Chris Allen getting an offensive rebound on a ball that hit the court first, UL player was in the area and didn't pursue it with any effort, they just gave up. UL was whooping it up Friday night against a bad AZ team that didn't even deserve to make the tourney, got in due to Olsons name and tourney streak, they thought it would be another blowout on Sunday. That game was the most indicative of MSU-Izzo basketball that I can remember.

I have so many CTI era favorite MSU basketball moments that it is hard to pick just one!  I loved the ones mentioned from 2009 but if I had to pick I would say it was the 3 consecutive wins vs UM in 2018-2019 season.  UM fans were starting their ole rally cry Beilein owns Izzo and they brought back former players for the game in AA.  MSU convincingly beat them in front of their former players.  Then MSU went on to pull off come from behind victories over UM at the Bres and in the BIG tournament.  Both of those wins were for championships and the better coached team won both times.

In my adult life I was at Crisler in 2019 for that big win to put MSU at the top of the conference. And I was at the Breslin (like many of you) for Cassius’ final MSU game ever which we did not know at the time, and that day was also my birthday. Super special memories I’ll always have.

But, like you said it’s hard to beat 2000 championship overall as a memory. But the double overtime  elite eight win against Kentucky, with the hundred camera angles of the buzzer beater 3 by kentucky. That was one of the most fun games I can remember as a fan.

So many good memories, we have been very lucky.

Too many to choose from, and this is cheating by me naming more than just one (sorry), but any of the highlight moments of a Final Four run have to be it for me (omitting the championship year).

Antonio outmuscling and outwilling Kentucky in the Elite 8 to end a 20-year Final Four drought and put us in the 1999 Final Four.

The numerous Richardson highlight dunks throughout the season with Bell and Hutson leading the way to 2001's Final Four.

Izzo sledgehammering the game tape to the 2005 B10 tourney loss and then the seniors of Anderson, Hill and Torbert (Brograkas too) having as exciting of a Sweet 16 weekend as it gets, beating Duke and Kentucky for the 2005 Final Four.

Durrell Summers dunk on UConn highlighted the 2009 Final Four.

Korie Luscious' buzzer beating trey to beat Maryland (including Roe ducking for Korie to get the ball).

The underrated and underappreciated Travis Trice catching fire and leading us to the 2015 Final Four.

McQuaid's acrobatics against Duke and Winston outracing Zion Williamson on our way to the 2019 Final Four.

Kindness is free.

2019 NCAA Tournament, 2nd Round vs Minnesota. In the 2nd half, the Gophers cut our 17 pt lead down to 9. Cassius took over. He hit a layup, got a steal, and hit a 2 pt jumper. Another Winston steal, outlet pass to Henry, back to Winston - Boom! A pull-up 3 and the Spartans are back up 16. Minnesota timeout.

These are all great. As others have noted, so many to choose from but I’ll go with these as the top 3 for me…

1.  National semi final win over UConn at Ford Field.  To see that much green in a place of that size was something I don’t suspect I’ll ever see again.  The atmosphere was off the charts and MSU delivered with a great performance

2.  Elite eight win over Duke, 2019. Duke had all the hype you could ever ask for that season and Cash and Co, a team which I believe played closer to it’s ceiling than any other of the Izzo era, weren’t having it. The final play of the game was emblematic of the whole season…X with a super smart move To direct Cash with his eyes and then #5 just pulled away from everybody to end it.

3. 1998 regular season win over Michigan at Breslin. I think that game certainly got some monkeys off Izzo’s back and I think it solidified his program as being legitimate at a point where many still questioned it.

I had the chance to work at the Breslin as an usher from 2001-2005.  It was just fun seeing him in the building and getting to know a lot of the staff and players at that time.  I heard a lot of stories about him from his high school coach, Magic’s high school coach and met his dad.  I wish I appreciated as much than as I do now.

My favorite game was the blowout against Michigan. I was in high school but my friends brother had Izzone tickets.  Rushed the court and hugged Mateen.

Mine is definitely the elite game in 2019 against Duke with the infamous Goins 3.

We were visiting colleges for my daughter and still kind of numb as a family from the recent passing of our middle son at the end of summer 2018. Distractions were important for our family and we happened to be out East in DC when MSU was going to play Duke. I bought some tickets.

We sat up with mostly Duke fans - probably 2/3 of the building from what it seemed - and had a great time. Back and forth and as Kenny lined up to shoot the 3, three of us saying, "nooooo.....yes!"

The crabby Duke fans were a nice cherry on top. Felt like Andy was with us at the game and cheering on his favorite team.

I think everyone has mentioned all the big ones but I’ll throw out an underrated game - December 30, 1997 at #5 Purdue. 74-57 and it wasn’t all that close. That was the first day the conference was put on notice that Tom Izzo was a bad motherfucker.

@spartan-warrior a huge game, no question. It was the day Izzo’s program came of age.

I enjoyed a lot of the final season that Tillman and Winston played, and this win against Illinois and Tillman’s game-winning put-back dunk was great.

A few I’ll mention that I haven’t seen yet:

2007 vs #1 Wisconsin at the Bres: This was such a reassuring win at a time the program needed it. Not only was it a W against #1, it all but assured us of another tournament birth. Breslin was on absolute fire and ESPN deciding to keep the broadcast going during the MSU fight song late in the game with no commentary was special. I can’t remember another college hoops game where that happened during the broadcast.

2013 vs UM at the Bres: I was not there in person, but I could feel the venom in that building through the TV screen almost immediately. Hoke in the building, the “You Off” shirts, and the absolute ass kicking made this a special game.

2019 vs UM at the Bres: HAD to have this one. A B1G title on the line at home vs those mofos. Overcame a big deficit early, including foul trouble for Cash in the first half. The iconic Winston performance to lead us to a title is something I’ll never forget.

@troy-mcclure Those are all good ones.  Agree that the 2013 M game was the most animated and vicious crowd in Breslin history.

@rodmsu1968 @Troy-McClure

Can you remind me a little more about the 2013 game and why things were ratcheted up in the Bres?
