Per MSU athletics the BBall game Saturday in Ann Arbor is on. We will be recording a pregame later tonight.
Let’s hope the particulars around the game are boring and MSU gets the win.
I will be curious to see how often Akins is matched up against Bufkin. Bufkin is starting to look like a future all-conference player, but I would love to see Akins frustrate him all game.
@hazelmotes I totally agree that he and Jett will be the main focus for the defense. I suspect they will let Dickinson get his and then let whatever else happens, happen. Maybe dig down off Dug like in the first matchup.
I still think this is a terrible idea. No faith in that coach, the players, or the fans to handle this appropriately. I sure hope I'm wrong.
@spartanmike We talked about it on the show and I do believe playing the game is the right move if the players want to. I understand all of Rod's concerns with it being UM and this crazy program with ridiculous coaching staff and players and AD. However, I think for these players and the team getting back to normal (playing basketball) as soon as they are comfortable is best for them in going forward.
This is a situation in which there is no right answer, no right amount of time to 'shut things down' and everyone has to move at their own pace. It will probably be best for the team in the sense that their first appearance on campus to play won't be their first game.
@elarson284568176374567 I know. I listened, and respect your opinion. I'd share it if it was any other program - even Purdue at Mackey. I really hope you're right and everything goes well.
I saw the Izzo press conference on Thursday. It didn’t look like Izzo was focused on the game. I hope the game helps him. Unfortunately it isn’t an exhibition so the results matter at a time they should not. If the game is to be used for healing then focus on playing for healing not win/lose.
