Generally, I find national coverage of MSU lacking some insight, like on this podcast Norlander and Parrish predict Booker to start at the 5, their coverage did offer some interesting insights.
This team will be Izzo’s first with 4 senior starters.
MSU, along with Duke, FSU, Marquette, did not use the portal yet are projected as top 10 teams.
I have to admit that I don't find this analysis very good. I certainly don't expect people to know details about the team like we do but a couple things really jumped out at me. Booker playing the 5? And being the best player on the team? We will have to see about that. I also see him playing at the 4 almost entirely with the depth we have at the five. And I just don't see him starting over Hall unless some weird things happen.
@elarson284568176374567 I agree that the insights were not good but I did want to highlight the two observations, one about the unusual amount of experience on this year’s team and the number of top 10 teams that did not use the portal between seasons.
Yes, disappointing analysis. I was hoping for more insightful takes (especially from GP) but not to be. I know it is hard for national guys to know our team in-depth but we are projected as a top 5 team by everyone and it just appears they did not do their homework.
